Behind the scenes we don't always get things right. Todays Homer Simpson moment was contacting Kelbrook School to organise a collection of one of our bikes. After much confusion and searching of the premises for our lost bike, school owner and I realised that I may have called the wrong "school”. I had called Kelbrook Shooting School instead- lots of laughter and apologies followed. Our missing bike has been retrieved from Kelbrook Primary School and is now secured back at the ranch! ... Training update

🚴 Schools with year 6 pupils taking part in Bikeability will be our priority

🚴 We will honour all existing year 6 school bookings from March 8th and will call to confirm the booking this week

🚴 Schools with year 6 pupils that have missed out on Bikeability this year will have the option of catching up with the training in the Summer term.

🚴 Holiday activity will go ahead from April 12. This will mainly be focused on Bikeability Level 1/2/3 for year 6 pupils to ensure they do not miss out before leaving primary school......but we will of course put on our very popular learn to ride courses too. Watch this space for eventbrite links.

🚴 Adult training will resume from April 12.

Our training is conducted within Government guidelines for Corona Virus. We social distance, use regular and frequent hand sanitiser and provide anti viral wipes and spray if you are using our equipment. Please contact us for our risk assessment if you are concerned.

The above plan could change depending on Government guidelines but it’s looking good for now.

Thanks all - please get in touch if you have any queries.
We can’t wait to see you all again

Go Velo

Two weeks after receiving the innovation grant to train people with SEND, we received some news that Go Velo had been donated some fabulous adapted bikes. Today was a very moving day, as the bikes, including hand crank bikes, tandem trikes, wheel chair adapted bikes and power assisted tandem/ trikes have been donated by Barry Howarth. Barry cycled with Pendle Forest until he had an accident on a club run 30 years ago. He was left paralysed, but continued cycling with his wife Betty using the adapted bikes. Barry passed away last week but wanted to give his bikes to Go Velo as knew we would make good use of them. We are so grateful for them and know that so many people will make use of them in the future. Barry was always fun to talk to and always came and chatted when we were at work at the hub, the Go Velo team will miss him lots. We will make a donation in his memory to spinal research and keep in touch with Betty who is keen to see the bikes in action. ❤️❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Here’s Sarah White head teacher from Coates Lane Primary School in Barnoldswick. We’ve always loved going into this school to deliver Bikeability and learn to ride sessions as the school has such a caring and happy environment. What a fabulous head with a very poignant message right now. Our hearts go out to everyone home schooling and trying to get through this situation. ... See MoreSee Less

Woke up to some great news - our innovation fund application had been accepted. This will allow us more time to train riders with SEND, work to lower ratios, buy, store and transport suitable equipment and offer SEND awareness training for our instructors. We can’t wait to get back to work now to start this exciting new project. ... See MoreSee Less
