"It goes without saying that the instructor was excellent with training and children, but it goes a long way in school when they are as positive and pleasant as well as experienced.
Many thanks again!"

Wow! Just wow. This is better than winning any award or any other feedback we have received. Making such a difference to these young peopleβs lives is what itβs all about. Our involvement with this was ace, Adrian Watts was all over it!!! He serviced all the cycles ahead of the training, planned and risk assessed the route and then together with Emma Mac did some cycle training leading up to the big day. Then they both led the challenge ride from Morecambe to Blackpool, supported mechanically by Matthew Field in the van. These wonderful riders did it! They made themselves proud and we love the fact we have made such a difference! Well done to all who completed this challenge. πWell what an absolutely amazing bit of newsπ
We have been discussing the impossibility of this happening twice for quite some weeks!!!!
So, to hear the amazing Chris Boardman announce our name is quite simply unbelievable.
We could not have done this without the support from Bikeability and all our other funders who support our efforts to encourage cycling for all.
Furthermore, we would like to thank each and every school, organisation and participant who come to Go Velo to be supported on their cycling journey.
However, the biggest thanks has to go to absolutely every single one of our team, because without them it just wouldn't be possible.
We have the strongest team and I'd go as far to say we are more like one big family, and I think that's the reason we do it so well and inspire others as it comes directly from the heart.
So thanks everyone π
You're all absolutely amazing, and we thank you all so very much!!!!!

It must be the original post or it won't count.
How to..... click to the right next to the Bikeability icon below then like, share, comment)...... all interaction counts towards final vote!!!My People's Champion is Naida Jabar!
βMy name is Naida, during term time I work at a special needs high school. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant with multisensory impaired children, helping them to access as much as possible things that are taken for granted by mainstream students. During the holidays I work with Go Velo and their team of Bikeability instructors with the ever popular holiday sessions.
I trained as a Bikeability instructor with Go Velo in February earlier this year and have really enjoyed encouraging others young and old to take up cycling and the pleasures it has to offer. Fellow instructors are wonderful and I love the camaraderie of the team. Not long previously having learnt to ride a bike with Go Velo myself (2 years ago) so it was great feeling to be able to guide others with my adult learner experience still being quite fresh in my mind. This was especially poignant when working with other South Asian heritage ladies like myself learning to cycle for the first time. Hopefully some of the learners will progress and join me on my Breeze Rides very soon.
When not working I love spending time with family especially love taking my adult daughters climbing with me, we have enjoyed slowly learning the skills involved together and we even progressed to some outdoor events in the Peak District together.
Also this summer I have learnt some essential navigation skills with Every Body Outdoors to aid my hiking and walking, which I really enjoy and will be leading a few walks for them soon.
In terms of my personal cycling I have come to enjoy trails alot and recently visited the Whinlatter forest with the Colour Collective who encourage participation in mountain biking from diverse ethnic backgrounds. I have recently had some very muddy MTB skills coaching with Wave Adventures in Bolton and will be volunteering with them, leading some local rides for women.
As you may have guessed I love being outdoors and in nature, any excuse! Cycling has definitely pushed me to be more adventurous in the outdoors.β

We make sure everyone has an opportunity and are encouraged to take part and our inclusion lead ensures our whole team is focused on this. World Car Free Day is coming Tomorrow on 22 September!
This is a great day for you and your co-workers to leave the cars at home and bike to work. Or why not cycle to a landmark to take a selfie?
Share it on Love to Ride and you could inspire countless more people to ride.
Now wouldnβt that be something?
Log your rides on your profile at lovetoride.net/lancashire
And don't forget to log Go Velo as your encourager πππ ... See MoreSee Less
