Hi Kirsty
Have to say, was very impressed with your guys last week, took my granddaughter down to Barrowford last Friday, couldn’t cycle at all, within 30 minutes she was whizzing around the track on her own. We took her to Lytham on Sunday and she cycled from the windmill to Fairhaven lake and back unaided. Amazing
Keep up the great work!

Speaking of dodgy bikes I'm enjoying wandering around looking at quick release wheels going past me. I reckon around a third are on completely wrong around here and at risk of falling off. I've tried telling some people but nobody seems bothered.

My boy is loving the current block! After just one session he was off despite being reluctant at the beginning. Your volunteers are so helpful and tailor everything to the child's current needs and allow them to progress at their own speed. He has so much still to learn in the final 2 sessions, can't wait to watch him improve further 😍

Sold out 😭

Will you be doing these in any other locations?

Thank you St Christopher's CofE High School, Accrington for having us in again for the third year. The whole of year 8s took part in Bikeability and Bikeability fix with over 190 reaching Level 3. Huge thanks to Wendy Litherland who organised it again. Here's what Wendy had to say.

Sorry for the delay, each year I think work can’t get busier and there can’t possibly be just one more hurdle to jump... but there is and last years one off... is still there.

And then we have the third year of bikeability. What started off as quite complex, has got easier each year... on line forms helped this year.. but the real reason is the people.

In a strange world where virtual seems to be acceptable and conversation lost- seeing six adults each morning, keen, excited and relaxed about taking children out on a fun adventure was more than a refreshing thought... it allowed me to virtually single handedly organise the biggest event we’ve held in over 18 months. In a world of excuses we reconnected the children with each other, strangers who they could trust and their form tutors as they talked about the activities and I feel as if I know a whole year group!

The children appreciated it more than ever, as did I and the school. We’ve had another wonderful opportunity for the children who loved the outdoors and the challenge. To see three youngsters learn to ride on the school yard is a joy. I never imagined they’d be brave enough! A tribute to how comfortable Adrian and the team make them feel.

Coping with children for two hours outside, sometimes in the cold was no mean feat for James. We didn’t have any capacity to help him out and having everyone of our year 8 children has given him a whole spectrum of backgrounds!

We look forward to having an adult maintenance session and think we should try and work in a reward ride for older children. We’d need a to chat about this.

Thanks again, for all the support before, during and for all the kindness shown to our children and me!

Go Velo cannot guarantee that there will be a suitable bike for every child, as stock available will be dependent on donations on the day. We will however take details from any child that does not receive a bike and be on the look out for a suitable replacement. Any unclaimed bikes will be donated to local schools.

The event will be running in line with government guidelines – anti-viral spray and hand sanitiser will be provided for all attendees and social distancing will be adhered to.

Let’s keep Lancashire’s children cycling!

Oh, just seen this & missed the date. I have a children's bike in good order, suitable for ages around 10 to 15. It's a girly bike, can send photos if anyone interested.

Brilliant 👏👏

This is brilliant

Hi, possibly a really silly question, do you have to have donated a bike in the earlier session to be able to receive one?
