Register as an NSI Bikeability Instructor

Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training – Recognised Prior Learning

Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training – Recognised Prior Learning

This course is for active National Standards Instructors who are currently delivering Bikeability. You must register for the new Level 2 qualification before 31 March 2024 if you want to continue to deliver this training.

 

The Level 2 Award in Instructor Cycle Training (RPL) will:

 

Ensure all Bikeability instructors meet the current National Standard for cycle training

Help Bikeability providers make sure their instructor teams can deliver up to date training.

 

Experienced tutors and assessors will provide support throughout.

 

 

How the Course Works

 

Book your course with Go Velo

Complete online assessment tasks and upload required evidence

The tutor assesses your online tasks and e-portfolio

Take your post-course assessment (PCA).

 

 

Course Content

 

Unit 1: Understand the role and responsibilities of the cycle training instructor

Unit 2: Plan cycle training and assessment

Unit 3: Deliver cycle training and assessment

Unit 4: Reviewing cycle training and assessment

Unit 5: Plan to improve professional practice.

 

 

The course involves:

 

Answering multiple-choice question and uploading work-based documents

Practical assessment.

 

These elements are all based on current Bikeability delivery requirements.

 

 

Requirements for Course Entry

 

To register for the Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training (RPL) you must:

 

Be a currently practising National Standards Instructor (NSI) or National Standards Instructor Trainer (NSIT)

Offer proof of this by providing your NSI/T number when you register for the course.

 

 

What Does the Course Cost?

 

The course costs £265, including 1st4Sport registration fee, pre course materials, online theory assessment, tutor guidance and your post-course assessment.
