This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to develop cycle training instructors to deliver the National Standard for cycle training.
The Level 3 Award in Developing Cycle Training Instructors will qualify you to:
Work as a Level 3 tutor delivering cycle instructor training and assessments for a 1st4Sport Recognised Delivery Centre

Attend the two-day course with a Go Velo tutor
Complete 9 online assessment tasks, and upload them to your learner portfolio
Undertake a Post Course Assessment (PCA)
Unit 1: Tutor cycle training instructors
Unit 2: Assess cycle training instructors
Unit 3: Plan to improve professional practice
21 hours of guided learning and approximately 90 hours including gaining practical experience of delivering training.
To register for the Level 3 Award in Instructing Cycle Training you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Be able to cycle competently, confidently and consistently to Bikeability Level 3 standards
To be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
Be currently delivering Bikeability, and have at least two yearsβ experience successfully delivering Bikeability.
Have an agreement in place to be able deliver for a Recognised Delivery Centre.
AND.
Hold, or be working towards the 1st4sport Level 3 award for tutors and assessors in sport, OR
Hold, or be working towards, QTS status or have a PGCE, OR
Hold, or be working towards a level 3, or above, regulated qualification in delivering education, OR
Hold, or be working towards, a level 3 or above, regulated qualification in assessment practice.
The course costs Β£1000 plus VAT, including one post-course assessment, and support from your tutor throughout.
