- 2 Calderstones staff have attended courses in maintenance
- We’ve run group courses and one-to-one tuition
Calderstones support adult who have a learning disability or other developmental disorder, and who have significant and complex needs that cannot be met by local services. The majority of the people supported are referred through the legal system.
The Trust is committed to providing clinical treatment and also meaningful activity and vocational training. Many of Calderstones service users attend college, either on the Whalley site or at places like Accrington and Rossendale College. Last year they were awarded 322 course and vocational certificates. These included 126 accredited courses and 140 certificates of achievement in activities such as money management, upholstery and reading skills. We’re proud that safe cycling is part of their syllabus.
Our partnership with the Trust is great for the service users. It also brings out the best skills in our trainers and coaches as they work successfully with people with complex needs.
