School Fun Cycling Sessions
The fun sessions are held either during curricular time, during PE lessons or used as extra curricular activity on the school grounds. These can be used for engaging children in physical activity, encouraging healthy lifestyle or just to have fun and let off steam. This can be funded through the school’s PE funding or via an external source. Children can learn to ride a bike, receive basic bike handling skills, fun confidence building activities and an introduction to racing. These sessions are available to children in year 2 upwards.
Go Velo’s instructors are British Cycling Level 2 Coaches or Bikeability instructors. We have BMX, Road and Time Trial, Track and Mountain Bike specific coaches. The coaches all volunteer with local cycling clubs and can be seen regularly at either Cycle Sport Pendle, Bolton Hotwheels, Blackpool Youth Cycling Club, Preston Pirates, Gold Coast BMX or even at the velodrome in Manchester.

Bikeability and Go Ride in schools
Go Velo instructors deliver Bikeability training in schools throughout Lancashire.
Go Velo also delivers British Cycling Go Ride coaching in Pendle schools on behalf of Cycle Sport Pendle. In 2013, Pendle school children benefitted from coaching and fun inter school races with Go Velo instructors. Cycling is now a permanent fixture on the inter schools competition calendar, which has led to strong links to cycling clubs and an increase in cycling across the district.
