ACCROSS – Accrington and Rossendale College Feedback

Just a quick thank you to Go Velo on behalf of myself and Accrington and Rossendale College – my learners on the session today were all struggling with various issues, including isolation and anxiety. Your instructors and the gentle way the session was run engaged them all and gave them a focus in a fun environment. They are now all eager to attend another session and indeed get cycling again.
Thanks again

Royal Lancashire Show – Feedback

I wanted to put in writing how impressed I was with James and Leanne for the way they so actively were promoting the opportunities of the Connecting East Lancashire and Love to Ride as well as Go Velo; it worked seamlessly and they were so enthusiastic and proactive. What great people to have working with you.

One-to-one Child Cycling Session

Hello

I wanted to feedback that Alex was made up about his cycling lesson with Anthony today.

On the way home he kept saying he couldn’t believe how much he’d enjoyed it, he’s really glad he did it and he wants to do more cycling over the Summer.

Considering he’s refused to get on a bike for two years, that’s a great achievement!

So thankyou Anthony for doing such a fabulous job with him. 100% satisfaction from your first private lesson!

Best wishes,

Tanya

Adult Cycle Training – Susan

Dear Paul

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed our session at the track yesterday evening, and how helpful I found it.

It was so good to have someone cast an independent eye over my riding position, cornering etc, and I found all your suggestions easy to understand, and implement.  Thanks also for getting me over my mental block of “not being able to turn in a circle”!!

Your whole attitude was lovely – very professional, whilst being approachable and relaxed.

If I’ve ever got any other particular issues where I need help, I’ll be sure to ask for you when I contact Kirsti.

Enjoy the rest of the summer – I might well see you down the road.

Warmest wishes,
Susan

“Go Velo is an exemplary organisation who have worked in partnership with Stubbylee Community Greenhouses to deliver a project funded by the East Lancs Clinical Commissioning Groups: Social Prescribing Fund. This funding has enabled our organisation to develop a highly successful bicycle upcycle project which has up skilled participants of the local community who face barriers to employment and well being due to their health, financial or familial circumstances.

The instructors who have consistently worked with us have proved themselves to be committed, highly professional and passionate about the work they do. Their work and consistent positive attitude, has enabled individuals who are socially isolated/mentally unwell/vulnerable/ unemployed or struggling financially to have access to sustainable transport, improve maintenance skills and regain confidence to become cyclists. Some have found work and many have improved access to many places and social groups they would otherwise not experienced.

Go Velo as an organisation have delivered sessions and organised programs to fit with our needs as an organisation and have certainly met the needs of the community we deliver our projects to.”

Level 2 & 3 with Lancashire Police October 2013

“GOVELO provided pedal cycle training for officers. The Bikeabillity training was fantastic and really beneficial to anyone who is commuting or a leisure rider “ Rick Hek on behalf of Lancashire Police

Some comments from participants:

  • Instructional technique was excellent, lessons well planned and well delivered
  • The trainer split the group so it was more one to one which was more effective
  • Talking it through in stages then going on the road.  It was a good experience, I feel more confident
  • The course was spot on, perfect for our needs

Kirsty, I just wanted to take the time to say a very big thank you for the 2 days we have enjoyed this week!

Everything was absolutely spot on, whether the attitude, expectation or expertise of the three delightful characters you sent to us, I and the children thought it one of the best things we have done in a long time!

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to you for sending Shaun and Autumn and for the fantastic work they did with the boys here at Stepping Stones.  Shaun and Autumn were amazing with the boys and I can’t praise them enough for how they were with the boys and that they gave them the skills needed to be safer on the road with a bike.  The boys got sooooo much out of the two days they were here.  Please pass on our many, many thanks.  Continue reading
